About us

We’re Katarina and Johan — designers, surfers, and long-time lovers of beauty, simplicity, and good living. After years of running our own design agency in Stockholm and working closely with the Milan Design & Furniture Fair, we felt the call to slow down and live more freely.

Portugal gave us everything we were looking for — surf, incredible food and wine, warm people, and a deep sense of authenticity.

In Ericeira, we found our new home — and a 400-year-old house that stole our hearts. We’ve carefully renovated it to blend Scandinavian simplicity with traditional Portuguese charm. It’s now our guest house, where visitors can stay and experience this beautiful mix of cultures in every detail.

Along the way, we also discovered a world of Portuguese treasures — handcrafted soaps, bold wines, elegant porcelain, and timeless design objects. That’s what we now share with the world through Casaloca, our curated shop and creative studio based here in Ericeira.
